Steady, A poem

The steadfast love of the Lord never changes
His mercies never come to end
They are new every morning
New every morning
Great is thy faithfulness Oh Lord
Great is thy faithfulness.

The steadfast love of the Lord.
Never ending.
Geared toward those who Love him.
Who trust in the saving work of his son.

It is what we are called to be.
Steadfast...just as the Lord is.
Fighting against the sin within that causes us to NOT be steadfast.
Not selfish.
Not wanting our own way.
But seeing the bigger picture.
So standing
Geared toward those who love the Lord.
Geared to turning hearts toward the one,
who ALWAYS has his heart turned toward us.

So let us stand

This is a five minute Friday post. the word prompt is brought to us by Miss Kate over at Five Minute FridayWhat is Five Minute Friday?  Well it's a party of a group of like minded folks who gather on Friday to do a five minute free write around a singular word.  AND THEN (and this is the most important part) we take the time to offer up encouragement to each other on this writing journey.  It's fun, though it's not always easy, but it is always good.   Come join us won't you?  You are always welcome.

  1. Lovely, Annette. Have a great weekend.

  2. "Not wanting our own way, but seeing the bigger picture..."

    Brilliant. Just great, Annette.

    #1 at FMF this week.

  3. If I'm going to have a song floating through my head, this is a good one. It's crucial to remember that God's love is steadfast, isn't it? I love that we can be steadfast because we have Him walking beside us.

    Beautiful words, Annette!

    1. it is a good one eh? I saw the word and it immediately popped into my head. :)

  4. Very true! The world is ever changing, but the Lord will remain steady and true to the end! He is never changing.

  5. Steady. Good description of God.

  6. Love his steadfast love. So glad I stopped by, poet friend. #fmf

  7. I remember my Mom would sing the hymn to those words over and over. I love, love how you used steadfast as a reminder of how we are to be, just as He is to us.

Hi! thanks for stopping by. I love comments, it's good to talk with each other eh?
